It Started with a Stab.
The realization that there was a gap in this segment came on the very first day I got my braces. I took a bite of food, and the wire pushed straight into my gum—essentially stabbing it and getting stuck.
I couldn't unleash it. I had to physically pull my lip out, and the wire took a piece of my gum with it, leaving an ugly, painful sore.
When I went looking for comfort, the wax was missing from local stores. Alternatives online were either $15+ or nonexistent. Friends told me they "hated the wax." That's when I knew I had to make something better.
